Stonewall Jackson School
Stonewall Jackson School was founded in 1907 as a juvenile detention facility in Concord, North Carolina. The school was named after confederate icon General Stonewall Jackson. During the post-World War II, the school was used as a site for sterilization by vasectomy of six teenage white males that was authorized by the state. Sterilizations were also performed on girls and women instead of boys and men.
