My series is all about abandoned structures, ranging from houses, farms, stores, and schools. I have a great interest in history and when I see an abandoned structure I am always interested in the history behind it and I am always surprised to find what is in them. It’s also interesting to see how nature takes over. It’s about being able to capture it today because it may be gone tomorrow. Questions I ask while I’m shooting are: Who lived in it? What kind of people were they? What was the building or farm for? Why is it abandoned? I want to focus on the details of the structure; as well as getting a wide-angle view of the structure with its surrounding area. I would like to be able to show people that there is more than just an abandoned structure and that there is history behind it as well. My photographs will capture the peel of the paint, the rust of the metal, and the rotting of the wood. The adventure of exploring and going into a no trespassing building or homes drives me to photographing these abandoned places.
